2013 Health Plan Employer Benefit Tips

  • If a low-deductible PPO plan is offered, move to the style high-deductible PPO plan.
  • If your company implement the HSA plan program, it is time to consider moving back to a traditional plan model.
  • If your company has medical and dental both from your medical insurance carrier, consider splitting the coverage to give you flexibility to change medical carriers annually if necessary.
  • Starting in 2010 Small Employer tax credit -Great opportunity for companies with 25 or less employees. Be sure schedule a meeting with your CPA.
  • Regardless of who your insurance carrier is, customer service will be reduced in 2011 due to the minimum loss ratio directive. Encourage employees to rely on the insurance carrier websites for information.
